Shared drives are shared spaces where teams can easily store, search, and access their files anywhere, from any device. Unlike files in My Drive, files in a shared drive belong to the team instead of an individual.
On your computer, go to drive.google.com. At the left, click Shared drives and double-click one of your shared drives. At the top, click Manage members. Add names, email addresses, or a Google Group.
G Suite Basic does not have the ability to structurally share documents within your organisation because it doesn’t include Shared Drives (previously called “Team Drives”).

Important: Shared Drives is only available with the G Suite Enterprise, Business, or Education editions. If you don’t see Shared Drives in Google Drive, it might not be available for your organization. For details, contact your G Suite administrator.
Right click on the drive that you want to share and select “Give access to” > “Advanced Sharing…”. Enter a name to identify the drive over the network. If you want to be able to both read and write to the drives from your other computers, select “Permissions” and check “Allow” for “Full Control.”
For example, you can share a shared drive with 100 groups and 100 users as members, but you cannot add another group as a member because that would exceed the 100 group limit for a shared drive.

Folders in shared drives have the same access levels as the shared drives themselves, with the exception of the manager. These access levels include: Content manager (default), Contributor, Commenter, and Viewer. Note that a Contributor on a folder is an Editor on a file in that folder.
Anyone can create a Google Shared drive and then add members and set permissions. You can designate a Google Group as the membership for a Shared drive.
How to Check Who Has Access to a Google Drive File. To check the list of people who can see your file, right-click the file in question and click Share. A window will appear showing you all the people who have access to your file.
